To start, may I say how annoying that question is? I don’t know if any of you have ever experienced the “if I___, would you still be my friend?” question, but I find it to be extraordinarily aggravating. I went on a trip once with a girl who continued to ask it about everything she did until finally I was just like: “no, I won’t be your friend if you do that, or if you ask me that stupid question one more time. I am literally this close to punching you in the face.” Okay, so I didn’t really say that last part, but I was definitely thinking it!
In a total change of topic, I sent out my first query letters to agents yesterday for my novel and I thought I was going to have a panic attack. But then I didn’t. I just shoved a bunch of Cheetos in my mouth and told myself to hope for the best. Ahh!
And the topic changes again…
I know I have expressed to you in the past just how nerdy I am. I am literally the president of the nerd herd. If I’m not writing, I’m reading. If I’m not reading, I’m sleeping (or eating), and if I’m not doing any of those things, I’m probably trying not to be completely awkward in some sort of social setting. But back to the nerd herd thing. I LOVE Batman. I named my car Batty after the Batmobile and I have bat window decals in purple and black in the corners of the windows. My house key is Batman and I have pajama pants with the Batman logo all over them. For Father’s Day, my dad’s card was Batman in his Batcave. I’m still unsure about telling you guys this stuff because I feel like it makes me sound like a total loser, but that’s okay, I embrace it. If I was as cool as Batman I probably wouldn’t have this blog–I wouldn’t have any pointless stories to share. And I, personally, think that would be a little sad, don’t you? Yes? No? Your life would probably not be affected either way.
I say all of this because I saw this shirt the other day and decided that I MUST BUY IT! It’s two of my favorite things: stuff with sugar in it and Batman!!!
I’m also a big Star Wars and Star Trek fan. (Don’t ask me to choose a side, because I can’t). And I want this one too:
But I want this one the most (because it’s so true!):
I love funny shirts. Is it bad that this is how I choose to spend my money? T-shirts and books. It is, isn’t it? Oh…
