Since the school year has begun again, Julia and I have been working hard to get This is a Book up and rolling once again! This is a Book Too, the sequel to our oh-so-random blog novel, picks up where our ghost-zombie-pirate and super-spy-assassin heroines left off. Can they find the true Pixie King (and not the Elvis one)? Who is Frogg? And can our heroines find Rose’s heart before someone else–someone worse–does? All of these questions and many more confusing ones will be asked, answered, and then asked again in the newest blog novel.
BUT FIRST I must tell you about This is a Book THE BLOG! This is a Book now has its own blogsite where you can find the newest chapters, competitions, and character descriptions/backgrounds.
Our first competition is up now. We want to see what YOU think a SQUISH should look like! All you have to do is follow this link-a-do to the instruction page. There, you will find step-by-step directions on how to send in your drawing/doodle/sketch/colorful image to us, as well as a description of a squish that you can use as a reference. No need to make these drawings super pretty. Trust me, I can’t draw worth crap. It takes me ages to get a stick figure to look good enough to pass as a doodle.
Still, I’m submitting my own for your judgement. After all, I can’t ask you to draw me your best version of a squish if I can’t draw one for you to see. So, here it is (don’t judge me!):
The winner(s) of this competition will have his/her/their drawing displayed at the top of the new This is a Book blog!
Keep an eye out for new chapters coming in the next few weeks. There might also appear (sometime in the near future) extra character descriptions of some of your favorite non-human/human characters. If you have a certain request–or questions–about any of the characters, feel free to comment or email us, and we’ll make sure to give you more information on your favorite character(s).
Who is the Elvis Pixie King? What about Pixie Stick? And whatever happened to that one guy mentioned for like two seconds in Chapter Four? Well, we’re going to tell you about all of them! Or, most of them!
Julia and I are super psyched about the newest endeavors of This is a Book, and we can’t wait to share them with you guys!
Ta Ta Amis,
Mel
