It’s been a while, once again, though this time I have been absent for a really BIG reason.

I graduated college!

(Try to ignore the fact that I look pissy. That’s actually just my normal face, lol. Plus it was 8 a.m. and I was really tired. Psh, excuses!)

What?! I know, I’m still in shock myself. It is one of those things that honestly doesn’t feel real. Especially since the popular question is: “what are you going to do now?”and I only have a partial, general answer: internships, looking into full-time jobs, looking at graduate schools.

In terms of actually applying to full-time jobs, it is my plan to take the summer off while doing my internship (at the zoo – so that’s fun!) and working part-time. I want to wait a little bit before I actually start job hunting. I just need a break; I need some time for my brain to recover from the four-year sprint of literature and gen-eds and clubs and jobs and all the chaos that comes with college.

On the plus side, I graduated with honors and completed my undergraduate thesis on children’s literature, both of which I am very proud of! In fact, if you are curious about my thesis, I have posted it on the “My Writing” page. It’s in several parts because the thesis itself is long (about 40 double-spaced pages). I will also make a post where I go more in-depth about writing my thesis, how I did research, and some of the struggles I had. Hopefully some of you will find this interesting and/or helpful.

In other news, I am in the process of writing my blog surprise that I will be posting starting on this blog’s four year anniversary in July. Because I’m starting early, the whole thing will be written and edited for your reading pleasure come July.

I’m actually super pumped about it. It is something I have had stewing in the back of my mind for a while, unsure of how I wanted to proceed with this story idea, until finally I realized it could be turned into a cool blog series. But those are all the hints you are getting about it; at least for now.

Okay, okay, one more! The current nickname title I have for the work (I nickname everything because then it’s sort of like we are friends, right? …Right?) is “Night Troopers.” Do with that what you will.

I guess I don’t really have much more to add. Just keep an eye out for more posts coming your way in the near future. Now that school is officially done for, like, EVER, I will have more time on my hands. I plan to refocus on my writing, so hopefully I will have more pieces to share with you in the future as well. In addition, I’m thinking that I might start posting more about my own writing experiences, tips that I have and/or have been given which I have found helpful, that sort of thing.

We’ll see how it goes 🙂
