Dream Journaling

So I recently bought a dream journal – one that I saw recommended by Zoella (from YouTube) in one of her favorites videos. I thought it would be a good place to write down my dreams and what they made/make me feel while they are still fresh in my mind. The journal even includes a space to attempt to analyze the dream (which I can never do cause mine are SO BIZARRE!)

I’ve been writing in the journal for a while now, and I have come to decide that my subconscious is straight up crazy. And creepy. I don’t know if I trust it.

In a personal favorite of my recorded dreams, I was taking care of a bear and lynx cub. Why? Who knows. I just was.

I then had to sneak them into my university, past our campus police, and down a maze of hallways that somehow led to a greenhouse/Best Buy/random closet. I honestly don’t know what it was. Weird is what it was.

One odd time jump later, the bear was then a turtle and the lynx was a horse. There was some kind of grand uniting of young animals and their parents in some open field; among which were the turtle and horse’s parents.

There was a picket fence. I don’t know what it was doing in the field.

The young horse galloped toward it’s family and then…

I woke up.

I kind of want someone to analyze my dreams, but at the same time I don’t. This was the least violent of all my dreams and I don’t want anyone thinking I’m subconsciously a psychopath or something.

I think I’d rather ostrich this one and stick my head in the sand.

A cool feature of the journal is that it has allowed me to notice patterns. Whenever I am stressed or having bad days due to my anxiety, my dreams tend to be even more vivid, violent, and bizarre.

Although, I will admit that my dreams are bizarre even on good days.

In the end, it’s a would recommend 10/10.

However, do I think you need to buy a $15 journal to do it? No. Just buy a $5 notebook (or if you already have one, perfect) and write down your dream(s) when you wake up. What happened in the dream, what did it make you feel, what do you think it meant?

The results are really interesting!

If you do try it, let me know how it goes. Are your dreams just as bizarre as mine? Welcome to the club!
