I used to write this blog anonymously under the name Melanie Smith – you’ll see me sign off as “Mel” from a lot of my past posts – however, due to the fact that in recent years the vast majority of my blog has been dedicated to stories about me or my writing, I think it is time that I peel away some of that mystery and tell you who I actually am.

My name is Kate and I graduated from university with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing.

I work full-time in the digital media industry where I’m able to use my writing and editing skills in ways I never (like – ever) anticipated for myself. Every day is a learning experience which I love, but it does mean that I have to actively set aside time for writing – I haven’t been doing a very good job. Slowly but surely, I’m hoping to change that.

I am an avid lover of The Princess Bride, the television show Psych, and all things considered “dated.” I’m actually horrible at keeping up with pop culture, which my friends all think is hilarious.

For those of you interested in astrology, I’m a Sagittarius with a Cancer moon and a Leo rising. (For everyone who just went “…what?”, feel free to ignore that last part!)
